All about Crafting Ireland

We are Ireland's first on-line craft magazine. Our aim is to produce an exciting and inspiring magazine aimed at the growing Irish crafting market. We want to showcase crafters and bring relevant information to Irish crafters about products and classes in Ireland. We are open to everyone though, you dont have to be living in Ireland to read the magazine or to submit your work to be published.

In our magazine we intend to explore the following areas, but to name a few:

  • Card making
  • Scrapbooking
  • Techniques
  • How to use products
  • Altered Art
  • Crafting on a budget
  • Challenges for crafters
  • Spotlight on Irish crafters

We will be writing about products, techniques, styles and much more. We will also be looking for your input to the magazine. We will be including your work spotlighted in the magazine. This is your magazine and your resource and we hope you enjoy it!!

Meet the Editors..

Chief Editor - Nicole Mullen

Nicole has been a passionate crafter her whole life. Early crafts included painting, drawing and anything else she could make a mess playing with. As she got older she discovered the world of card making and its associated crafting supplies and she has never looked back. Her earlier crafting always involved using what she had, keeping ribbon from boxes, using cardboard from boxes, and wrapping paper saved from gifts. So when she discovered the enormous wealth of craft supplies to be had she was a bit overwhelmed.

Of course she likes shopping for craft supplies as much as the next crafter, but her first experiences using any materials she could convert, and budget restraints means she spends a lot of time improvising and making do with what she has in true crafting spirit!

The magazine came about when Nicole started following some magazines and realised there were plenty of American and English magazines out there but no Irish ones. She felt that these magazines used a lot of products not available in Ireland or that were just too expensive if they were available. So she decided that this had to change. We needed an Irish magazine that would be more relevant to Irish crafters as well as others, and that could inspire them as well as the other magazines on the market. But without the need to have to splash out on large craft supply orders from the USA. She contacted Timi and asked what she thought about the idea and after working through it and setting out a plan Crafting Ireland was born!!

Assistant Editor - Timi Konya
Timi started crafting at a young age, inspired by her mother and grandmother who were both master seamstresses. She had done pottery and enamelling classes and spent her childhood summers attending various different craft camps from pottery, felt-making, weaving, beading, enamelling, fabric batic, candle making, cross stitching, silk painting, porcelain painting right through to decoupage napkin technique!! She loves experimenting with techniques, products and colours to create fantastic projects. Timi is originally from Hungary but is settled in Ireland for a few years now with no plans to leave!

She was delighted when Nicole contacted her with the idea for the magazine and was super passionate about seeing the idea become reality. Timi has a strong business background as well as being a passionate crafter so these talents were absolutely invaluable in getting the magazine set up and running. The magazine has gone from strength to strength with her passion, dedication and enthusiasm.
